Ron Arroway

Ronald J. Arroway, 69, of East Syracuse died Saturday. Born in Syracuse, he lived in East Syracuse for 36 yer.

He retired in 1980 after 20 years as a police officer with the Syracuse Police Department. He retired after 10 years from Marine Midland Bank's Security Department and he was owner and operator of Ron Arroway Auto Sales.

He was a communicant of St. Matthew's Church in East Syracuse and member of the Syracuse Police Benevolent Association. He served with the Navy Reserve.

Survivors: His wife of 48 years, the former Mable Sweet; two daughters, Teisha L. Harrison of East Syracuse and Ann M. Wiltsie of Oswego; three sisters, Shirley Back of East Syracuse, Myrtle Whitcomb of Baldwinsville and Genevieve Roderick of Liverpool; three grandchildren.

Services: 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Delaney & Greabell Funeral Home and 9 a.m. in St. Matthew's Church. Burial, White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. Calling hours, 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday the funeral home, 241 Kinne St., East Syracuse. Contributions: EAVES, Box 34, East Syracuse 13057.
