Tom Bergamo

Thomas P. "Tom" Bergamo, 76 of Tully passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 6, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

A native of Syracuse, Tom was born on August 14, 1939 to the late William and Kathryn (Barry) Bergamo

He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1957 to 1961 on the USS Yorktown and USS Boxer Aircraft Carriers.

Tom became a Syracuse Police Officer serving for 20 years in the City of Syracuse. After his retirement from the police force, he worked as a Security Officer for 1 Park Place for over 15 years retiring again in 2007.

Tom was a nature enthusiast enjoying fishing and hunting and spending as much time as possible outdoors.

SURVIVED BY: His wife of 30 years, Suzanna Hier Bergamo

Three children: Laurie (Mark) Kirkpatrick, Patrick (Jennifer) Bergamo and William (Michelle) Bergamo

One step-son, Eric (Megan) Hier

4 grandchildren, Nicole, Kelly, Christopher Bergamo and Luke Hier

Two brothers, Peter W. (Rita) Bergamo and Barry James (Sue) Bergamo as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on MONDAY, July 11, 1016 at 9:30 AM at Assumption Church, 812 North Salina Street

The Rite of Committal and Burial will be immediately following at the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Howlett Hill Road, Syracuse

Visitation will be on SUNDAY, July 10, 2016 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Keegan-Osbelt-Knight Funeral Home Inc., 900 N. Salina Street, Syracuse

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tully Volunteer Fire Department, 1 Railroad Street, Tully, New York 13159
