Al Locklin

Edwin "Big Al" Locklin Jr., 74, of Camillus passed away peacefully on Wednesday at Van Duyn. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, he was a graduate of Onondaga Valley Academy. He was a Veteran of the US Army, he then went on to join the Syracuse Police Depart- ment and served for 22 years, retiring at the rank of Sargeant. He was a founding member of the Neighborhood Watch in Syracuse. In the later years he worked for Morris Security.

Al and his wife Dee owned Rafferty's from 1998 to 2004. Ed was a member of the Valley Men's Club, Syracuse Police Retirees, and enjoyed golf, Kareoke and playing cards. He was pre-deceased by a sister Marianne St. Amore. Surviving to carry on his memory are his wife of 42 years Danita "Dee", two sons John A. (Sharon) of Penneville, Edwin A III of Syracuse, and one grandson John Jr.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Whelan Bros. & Hulchanski Funeral Home, 5854 Belle Isle Road, Syracuse, NY 13209. A Funeral Service officiated by Reverend Peter Worn will be held on Monday, August 11 at 11:00 am at Whelan Bros. & Hulchanski Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Onondaga Valley Cemetery with military honors.
