Ronald "Buzz" Buczakowski, 59, of Central Square, formerly of Mattydale and Columbia, SC, died Tuesday. Born in Syracuse, he attended Transfiguration School and graduated from Eastwood High School, CCBI and the Onondaga Police Academy. He retired after 20 years as a Police Officer with the City of Syracuse. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6282, the VFW, the American Legion Post 1650, the Vietnam Veteran's of America, the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 315, the Pulaski Post and the Disabled American Veterans. He served his country in the US Army in Vietnam.

Webmaster Note: I recall being jealous of Buzz's special position in the Traffic Division under Captain Pete Wright.  Buzz was able to work as the "radio coordinator", (first in. last out) at each and every overtime event at the Carrier Dome.  His overtime earnings and  presumably his pension were tremendous.

I would have taken that deal in a minute if I had the chance, and I sure don't criticize Ron, but what good did all his money do?  Now he's under the sod at the age of 59! I am ashamed of my jealousy and any snide remarks I may have directed towards Ron's good fortune.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33
