William H. Holden

William H. Holden, 79, of Baldwinsville died Monday. Born in Syracuse, he had lived there many years, then lived in Marcellus from 1979 to 2001, when he moved to Baldwinsville. He retired in 1978 as a sergeant for the Syracuse Police Department after 32 years. He had also been a security guard at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was a member of Syracuse Police Benevolent Association, Retired Police Association and Non-Commissioned Officers Association. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors: His wife of 20 years, the former Ruth McIntyre; two sons, Gregory W. of Ohio and Stuart P. of Syracuse; a stepdaughter, Janet Horning of Parish; several grandchildren; a stepgrandson. Graveside services: Private in Springbrook Cemetery. No calling hours. Buranich Funeral Home, Camillus, has arrangements.
