Buddy Major

Harold "Bud" F. Major, 78, of West Monroe, ascended into Heaven with his loving God, as his savior, on Sunday, surrounded by his family.

Harold graduated from Split Rock High School and entered into the Air Force National Guard. Upon his Honorable Discharge, Harold served as a patrolman from the Syracuse Police Department for 20 years.

After retirement, Bud owned and operated Harold (Bud) Major General Contractor and Construction. He was an active member of PBA, FOP, and NFOP; Post #787 Cicero American Legion; and Boy Scouts of America. Bud was an avid hunter who, in his younger years, enjoyed camping, boating, water skiing, and spending time at Black Lake and Otisco Lake with family and friends. For the past 24 years, his summers were spent at their seasonal camp at Brennan Beach RV Resort in Pulaski.

Harold was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Emma Major and sister, Joyce Ann Major. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, the former Patricia Watkins; daughters, Kim (Robert) Goffredo and Kelly (James) Babcock; brother, John Major; sister, Patricia Kinne; grandchildren, Madison and Jimmy, Jr. Babcock and Megan Goffredo; and many extended family.

Funeral Service: Thursday, 10 a.m. at the Central Square Community Church. Calling Hours: Wednesday, 4 to 7 p.m. at Traub Funeral Home, 684 N. Main Street, Central Square. A private burial will be held at a later date.
