Glenn Malson

August 3, 2007 Glenn E. Malson, 69, of Lincklaen, passed away Friday from lung cancer. He had been a smoker for more than 50 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1959. Glenn retired from the Syracuse Police Department after more than 20 years. He then was a teacher's aide at DeRuyter Central School for the next 20 years and also served as the town of Lincklaen justice for 20 years. He was an avid hunter and taught hunter safety classes for many years. Surviving are his daughters, Karen (Craig) Dennis of Pompey Center and Beth (John) Stanton of Lincklaen; his son, Dennis (Tammy) of Baldwinsville; grandchildren, Brynn, Michael, Nick, Christopher, Samantha, Sarah, Cody, Cyle, Veronica and Charity. He was predeceased by his wife, Linda, in 2004. Services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home, DeRuyter. Burial will be in Lincklaen Cemetery. Calling hours will be 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to DeRuyter Free Library.
