Robert T "Bob" Mangin, 77, died peacefully at his home on Thursday. During his active life, he served his country in the Air Force. Bob also served 20 years as a Syracuse police officer, retiring in 1981. After retirement he started Bet-Mar Auctions. Bob was the first auctioneer on local television in Syracuse. He established the local flea market at the Regional Market on Park St. He was active in the Cato Rotary. He will be missed by many. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Seales Mangin; two sons, Robert Mangin Jr. and Gerald Mangin; two daughters, Theresa Schuelke and Kelly Murphy; two stepsons, Michael Grant and Robert Zelias; three stepdaughters, Michelle Leggett, Susan Sahai and Laura Zelias; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 a.m. Monday in St. Patrick's Church, N. Main St., Jordan. Private burial will be in Monument Grove Cemetery, Meridian.
