Dave Paul

David Neil Paul of Jamesville, passed away at St Joseph’s Hospital on January 10, 2018.  He was 77 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents Dr. and Mrs. Neil MacDiarmid Paul of Jamesville.

Dave was among the first graduating class of Jamesville DeWitt High School. He received his BA degree in Education from Syracuse University. He graduated from the NY State Police Academy in 1964 and went on to serve many years in law enforcement.  His career began as a NYS Trooper, he retired  after 24 years as a Sergeant with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation in 1994. He, along with one of his most cherished friends, established Corbett-Paul Investigation, where they worked side by side as private investigators for several years. He continued assisting at the District Attorney’s office until a few years ago.

Dave will best be remembered for his quick wit and humor and his ability to tell a great story.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Geraldine Stewart Paul; children, Dr. Lynne (Russell) Braun of West Chester, Ohio, Kristen (Fran) Mueller of Marion, Ohio, Kyle (Alan) Knight of Chittenango, NY, Neil (Amy) Paul of Avon, CT, Heather (Ron) Gill of Red Creek, NY, and Dr. David “Andrew” (Jayme) Paul of Cicero, NY; 16 grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his sisters, Alexandra (Lance) Baker of Jamesville and Mary Alice (Ket) Weist of Venice, FL.

Family will receive friends at The Jamesville Community Church, Jamesville, between 2 pm-6 pm on Sunday January 14th and Funeral Service on Monday, January 15, at 10 am also at The Jamesville Community Church.

Dave never worked for the SPD, but as a BCI investigator he worked many cases with us and made any fiends. I met Dave whren he was still in uniform and I had my gas station in Dewitt. He encouraged me to pursue a crteeer in law enforcement. I will miss you buddy.
