Just one of many stories I could tell. At one time Paul was studying to be a minister. Herman Edge, (Our first black Sgt, Later Deputy Chief), asked him. "Did you know Solomon was black." and Paul said strongly. "He Was Not!"

Herman said he could prove it and walked over to the PSB courtroom which was not in session, and borrowed the swearing-in Bible. He turned to Song of Solomon 1:5

"I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem..."

Paul sputtered "That's not real! This is one of those trick-Bibles you black people get printed up in New York City!"

We loved you, Cecile!
