Paul Serbun

Paul Serbun, 87, of Syracuse passed away Friday at his home. Born in Syracuse, Paul faithfully served his country with the US Navy during World War II. He retired in 1990 as a Captain in the Syracuse Police Department, with 39 years of service. Paul was a highly decorated officer, including being a recipient of the Francis Hendricks Medal of Honor, the highest medal awarded by the Syracuse Police Department. Paul was a member of the Syracuse PBA, and the Syracuse Police & Firefighters Retirees Association.

He is predeceased by his son Peter and his sister Olga. Paul is survived by his long time companion Martha A. Driscoll of Syracuse; daughter, Pamela ( Armin ) Buehlmann of Blooming Grove, NY; son, Paul of Syracuse, brother; Joseph ( Rita ) of Lakeland ; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call 4 to 7 pm Tuesday, at Giminski-Wysocki Funeral Home, 1320 W. Genesee St., Syracuse. Services: 11 am Wednesday, at the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
