David J. Taylor, 68, of Mallory, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday,
February 17, 2005 while at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. Born in
Canastota, he had lived in the Hastings/Mallory area most of his life. He
was a graduate of Central Square High School and a US Navy Veteran. Mr.
Taylor retired in 1997 after 34 years with the Syracuse Police Department.
He was a past member of the Syracuse Police Benevolent Association and a
member of the Syracuse and Central New York Retirees Association. Surviving
are his wife of 45 years, the former, Nancy Rood; a daughter, Debbie DeWolf
of North Syracuse; four sons, David, Jr. of Syracuse, Michael of Fulton,
Daniel of Mallory and Andrew of Kingston, NY; a brother, Floyd of Hastings;
several grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 6 p.m.,
Saturday, February 19, 2005 at the Watson Funeral Home, Inc., 631 So. Main
St., Central Square with spring burial in Hastings Cemetery. Calling hours
will be 3 to 6 p.m., Saturday before the service. Contributions may be made
to the Salvation Army.
